Two Game Blog update!!!
Well I've certainly been slacking on the blogging lately, but, of course, I need to make sure certain individuals are recognized for their performances the last two games!!
Last Week's Game @ Charter Oak:
MVP: ERIN MACK!! How a girl goes from Erin "bubblicious" Mack one week to the MVP the next...I'll never know but she did AMAZING!!! 3 for 3 and scored 2 runs!!!! way to go Erin, you make blowing bubbles look GOOD.
This Week's Game @ Robertson:
Well, here we were again versus Richard Simmons and his pack of douches and boy did the game live up to its expectations. We were blessed to see Richard's brand new gas mask. Looked shiney and new...right out of the box. Matt and I are worried though as Richard has been calling for a "courtesy runner" and is limping back to the bench...are the Richard Simmons days over? Say it isn't so.
Besides the fast that we lost...AGAIN...the game was actually a really good and fun game. Actually that extra run was probably the one that was scored while i was mid-air screaming in joy as I caught a fly ball. Sorry, but it was an overwhleming moment for everyone in the ball park. See you guys on ESPN top 10 plays.
Anywhooooo, hope I can remember everything as I may have been at the ice cream truck and didn't catch everything that happened, but I do know their were some stellar performances. This week I have to give some awards:
Best original story: Big C. the greatest bench coach I've ever witnessed, master at sunflower seeding and got a hit today after a painful road to recovery! way to go C, glad you're feeling better and it showed! Let's say we play this up like you got 8 homeruns and got the knee injury by falling off a mountain and get on ESPN outside the lines.
Most over dramatic performance: Kelly
Best player in a war drama: Dawn...also being considered for a purple heart
Best player in a mini drama at third base: Jaime...enough said haha. Great game Jaim!
Lifetime Achievement Award: Vman, consistenly ruling the outfield, taking no prisoners and making a name for himself
Best male player in a leading role: Michael Laser Tour Murphy...great home run and pitching performance even with an ace bandage around his elblow...
Best female player in a leader role: Katie - had a great hit and made many great plays at first base
Best Visual Effects: Matty with a dive at Short stop as well as stellar pitching and 4 for 4 hitting.
Best player in a guest role: Kyle Bedini ...great hitting and an awesome catch in left field
Best Comeback role: CJ Watson, coming back from the depths of hell last game, CJ goes 3 for 3 and gets himself the a bruise the size of one of leon's donuts.
Best Breakout performance: Miss Liz Sulick with her first hit and first run...amazing performance!
and the oscar goes to....
MVP: DEBORAH! way to go Debbie. Great job at second base!!!

FRIDAY'S GAME
Sorry about no blog but the game being on friday messed me up. I didn't have to be at work and wasn't trying to do everything I could to avoid doing actual work. I don't remember too much from the game so I'll just point out our MVP: our very own Robinson Cano. GO BETH! Who knew she had in it her? Plus, after a few rounds at the cages this weekend, I think she'll be hittin' homers in no time.

Game 3
It was a dark day and tough loss for LDF last night. Never did I image we would lose to a team with an asian girl wearing a velour suit. But, it did happen. Maybe it was b/c Charter oak gives off bad vibes, maybe because Matty was being locked down by the HAZMAT team, who knows, but we can only rise up from here.Thank you to Barkley and Lindsay for helping us out! They were awesome!
Despite the tough loss, there were some good points for sure:
Katie: Awesome job at first base!! I honestly don't think katie dropped the ball once. She also wins for having the most empathy for me, i.e. when I missed every single ball that came near me at second, she insisted they were all tough and no one would have gotten them. I love Katie.
Dawn: VERY solid performance from Dawn last night! Always so consistent! Thank the lord she came in time to go out in the field...the day would have been even darker without her!
Erin: Wow, MOST IMPROVED, for SURE. Erin had only one thing on her mind and that was contact with balls. Great performance and one day you'll get that ice cream sundae!!!
Debbie: Thankfully Debbie was able to come put a little more strength into the right field and got an great hit!
Me: Last night was my most dreadful performance to date. If anyone needs me I'll be quitting my job and doing two-a-days at New State field.
CJ: Well, CJ is probably still cursing himself about that one error in the outfield. Don't worry CJ - you still had a great game including one particularly awesome hit. Also David Seeds says thanks for keeping him in business.
Murph: ehhh Pitcher!!! Only walked a few guys last night and got a few great strike outs! Next week the only option is a no-no.
MVPs: Nick & Eric....who knew that even on LDF's worst day, two of our very own could get inside the park homers!!!! Wooo Wooo!! Both of them definitely gave us a morale boost! Great job guys!

LDF's First WIn!
woooo!!! Leon's first win of the season!!! where are these pitchers coming from? going in i thought we had a shoe-in for the weirdest pitcher ever (dmbfan)...but god, murph looks like plain jane compared to these nut jobs!!! here's the run down:
Matty "Nancy Kerrigan" Leitao: finally got some hits this game! had some great plays including a triple sow cow out in left field. 10's all around, but only a 9 from the grumpy Afghanistan judge.
Beth "greasy breakfast meat" Pfieffer: Beth joined the train of keeping her eye on the ball and got on base today! She's also mastered the 20's voice (hey heyyy what do ya say) and has (for unknown reasons) been given the nickname "bacon".
Erin "Bubblelicious" Mack: although targeted by many ("hey hit to right field" as erin is blowing bubbles), she looked as if she might have a miracle catch in right field. Also, had great contact with the ball tonight and I feel a hit next week is inevitable.
CJ "I need Prozac" Watson: 2nd game in and CJ is throwing bats and yelling at the other team. By the last game we'll need to chain him to the fence with leon. Regardless, he had some great plays in the outfield and even did a slide into a base which i equate with being good.
Liz "i'm going to get my fleece" Sulick: Hit the ball both times tonight...but the most important part: the bat did not go with her to first base. Also became a fellow sunflower seed addict. welcome to the dark side.
Eric "if you're on time you're late" Viara: most punctual and consistent player on the team. did not speak to me today b/c i did not agree to after game parties at cvs.
Nick "killa man jaro" Simonetti: Many think that nick can't judge a fly ball, but murph and I know that what he is really doing is using the running to train for the big climb. Also, murph noted that he is using his hair as drag. Next week he'll have a backpack with weights and/or we'll make him hold the chain that CJ will be tied to. Also had 4 great hits, but there's nothing funny about those. sorry.
Jaime "Guinness makes you good at softball" Moran: apparently drinking Guinness inbetween innings makes you really good at third base. note to myself, erin, liz and beth: we will be funneling guiness before next game.
Michael "the only option" Murphy: a while back i let murph know that i am slightly psychic. tonight when murph got up to bat i told him that a home run was the only option...creepy? i think so. also will never read this b/c of watching breaking bad reruns on AMC. an honorable mention for MVP.
Debbie "better late than never" Anderson: awesome job at second base and some great contact with the ball (also may or may not have concussion). also will be suing nick for domestic abuse.
Kelly "least valuable player" Watson: almost single-handedly caused us to lose by yelling "we want a pitcher not a belly itcher"
Katie "Most valuable player" Viara: What a way to end the game!!! just when I thought, oh man we're screwed, Katie got a crazy double play and some awesome hits!!! Congrats Katie, today's MVP!!!
Leon's insights for next game:
muscles=homeruns, first cycle of creatine for the team next week. (hoping to look like this by spring break and hit on some bitches)

Game 1
hey heyyy what do ya say! Leon's Donut Factory looked strong, but unfortunately couldn't tame the beasts(and I do mean beasts) of the other team. As the other team took the field I figured there would be no way a team that would allow Richard Simmons to pitch in a gas mask would be good. Boy was I wrong, they were hittin bombs into the outfield sending CJ and Kramer into a tizzy. Kramer came out of the 6th inning looking like he just had a cage match with a tiger. CJ got all jacked up per usual. Murph was throwing high balls like he was sending them to the old man from UP. Liz and I were practically in the parking lot catching the ball. It was a tough game, but I have hope that when we play human beings and not genetically altered beasts who call themselves "women" we'll have a shot at win. And here's the run down:
Jaime, Katie and Dawn: The freekin dream team! How do you know so many softball rules? How do you catch and throw so well? I can only aspire to be a part of the dream team. It would have been about 40-0 if one of us other girls had to man those bases.
Murph: Heyyyyy pitchers got a big butt. Murph strikin' out some bitches and owning the mound. Will not sweat all season due to miracle shirt.
CJ & Nick(Kramer): The bash brothers. Bouncing off the chain link fence, diving left and right...these two had a LOT of action out in left field. Lots of a hustle out in left. Nick was able to steal a hit from Richard. CJ did not get a hit due to thinking about track.
Debbie: Although debbie dissed the blog she made two great plays: one at second base and one at the packy.
Erin & Beth: The right field force. Unfortunately Beth's pager didn't go off so there was little action for right field. although neither of the gals got a hit both held strong stances at the plate as beth showed off her gorgeous gams and erin flaunted her bronzed skin. No doubt making the other team depressed as they looked at their own fupas.
Liz: Sometimes people get attached to things...like teddy bears, baby blankets, etc. Liz loves her bat. My softball career will not be complete until liz runs all bases with a bat in hand.
EricVman: Great game for the vman! Officially crowned himself the mvp of all coed softball. Will only do after game drinks in the parking lot or cvs being it's still walking distance.
Big C: Two great hits but unfortunately Kerri Strug couldn't make it to the base. Also very very good glove high-fiver.
Matty(GIP): Gippy takes a big ole goose egg for hits, but definitely had some jete moments out at SS. Would have had some hits if it hadn't been for matsui out in center. Also noted that he might play better if he didn't permanently have paint on his fingers.
Julie: Great mascot and note writer. Also came in clutch with pre game jelly beans. reebok...
Game 1 MVP: sorry to do this, but I have to give this to myself. My softball career started and ended in one day. I signed up for little miss softball, but my dad threw one pitch to me, it hit me in the lip and I never played again. And today, after years of Chris telling me that being a lefty makes me mildy retarded, I was able to get a hit and a run!!! Matt told me i had to give myself this since there's no chance I'll ever get so lucky again.
